The Vifor Pharma Group is a global pharmaceutical company that researches, develops, manufactures and sells its own products. The company’s goal is to be a global market leader in the areas of iron deficiency, nephrology and cardio-renal therapies and to help patients with severe and chronic illnesses lead better, healthier lives.
Vifor Pharma was struggling with an outdated and limited brand and presence in their market and needed to reinvent and invigorate itself after a large-scale organisational change.
Our mandate was to assess the current situation, then generate a new brand strategy and identity that better reflected the dynamic and important work the organisation does. Combining consulting, conception and design workstreams we took the organisation on a transformative journey, reimagining how they view themselves and how they want to be perceived.
We took an “as-is” analysis approach and then benchmarked Vifor Pharma’s results with industry best practise and trends across a wide range of branding, communications and customer journey topics.
Inspired by the newly established company values, we developed the brand’s CI to include an earthy, modern colour palette and a whole new image world that supported the brand messaging. The fresh identity was brought to life across the entire brand and implemented consistently across all communication materials –print, digital and online. To stand out from the competition we focused on the digital and animated world with dynamic presentations and engaging animations which were used worldwide for corporate events and meetings.
Building on the revamped brand strategy and new look and feel, we felt it was crucial to put the patient at the centre of Vifor Pharma’s communication. “Our Patient at the Core” raised awareness about challenging topics surrounding their medical treatments and gave insight into the important work that Vifor Pharma does. Film and photo series were produced documenting the everyday lives of patients, who’s stories were shared in the annual report as well as online across their website and social media channels.
Ultimately Vifor Pharma completely re-imagined their core values and principles. By placing the customer in the centre of their company’s purpose, they dramatically repositioned their brand as an innovative player in the pharmaceutical market.
